How do we book your tours?
There are a number of ways that you can book a tour. If you know you would like to book a particular tour, and the date and time you would like to do it, the quickest way is to book online on our website.
However if you have questions about a tour we can book tours through email – team@localeyestours.com. To pay we would email you a secure electronic invoice.
If your enquiry is urgent we can also take bookings over the phone, to book over the phone please call +447769 265952.
Can you do large group tours?
We have extensive experience in providing tours for large groups, whether for schools, universities or businesses. If you would be interested in booking a large group tour please email us at team@localeyestours.com
Where do your tours start?
Private Walking tours can start at your accommodation provided it is in the city centre. If you are staying outside of the city centre we would recommend starting walking tours at a convenient landmark.
Small Group Tours
Both of our regular small group tours – History Lovers Edinburgh Old Town Tour and Undiscovered Edinburgh Walking Tour – start at the same place The Tour Box, West End Princes Street.
The Tour Box is a small brown and white coffee kiosk on the west end of Princes Street. Please use Google rather than Apple Maps to find it, unfortunately Apple Maps currently send you to the wrong place.
Do you do bespoke tours?
Absolutely, while we have set routes and itineraries if your party has particular interests or locations in mind we can incorporate them into your very own tour. We are also happy to make alterations on request to existing tours and provide recommendations about attractions, hotels or restaurants to make your tour and visit to Scotland more enjoyable.
What does your tour fee include?
Included in the private tour price:
- Accommodation pickup
- Private guide for the duration of your tour
- Advice on attractions, restaurants and anything else
- Free Coffee from Castle Coffee
We can also book restaurants. We can provide hotel recommendations but we do not book hotels for customers
How flexible are you about start times/dates?
So long as we’re available we can start private tours on any date you wish except for Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
How flexible are you about the length of private tours?
As advertised our private tours are 2.5 hours but if you would like a longer tour please leave a note to us when you book online in the comments section or contact us directly.
Do you allow children on your tours?
With the exception of our Edinburgh, Empire and Slavery Walking Tour children are very welcome on our tours but they must be accompanied by an adult.
What is your cancellation policy?
To confirm your private or small group tour we would need full payment to guarantee the date and time. To request a cancellation and refund we would need the request in writing, please email team@localeyestours.com.
Could a disabled person do your tours?
Do your tours run in bad weather?
Unfortunately the weather in Scotland is not always pleasant but we do have a saying that there’s no such thing as bad weather only bad clothes. In the rare event of weather being so bad that it creates dangerous walking conditions we will cancel the tour and provide you with a full refund.
