Most tourists don’t leave the Old Town when in our “bonnie” city……what a shame! Not far from the Royal Mile, there’s a lot more to see. Join us on a 2 hour tour of Edinburgh’s lesser known best bits. This tour has been designed to uncover the scenery, greenery, history and architecture you never knew existed.

There are few parts of Edinburgh more picturesque than Dean Village. Once located well outside the bounds of Edinburgh, “the Dean” boasts 17th century architecture, an abundance of green space and Edinburgh’s only river: the Water of Leith. As you walk through Dean Village, keep a lookout for the wide variety of wildlife here, including trout, herons, woodpeckers, kingfishers and even otters…..in the city centre! Oh, we almost forgot to mention you’ll see a waterfall or two as well!

After walking down alongside the river, we reach Stockbridge, officially Scotland’s least deprived district! With a wide selection of independent shops, artisan bakeries, restaurants and pubs, there’s something for everyone here. Then it’s on to the New Town, don’t be deceived by the name! With a history dating back to the 1760s and a long list of hugely influential inventors, scientists and all-round big thinkers having lived here, the New Town has its own very interesting story to tell.
