About Private Harry Potter and Old Town Tour
While Edinburgh does not directly feature in either the Harry Potter book or film series, it is in our fair city where J.K. Rowling actually wrote her seminal series of novels and still resides today. Writers always thrive upon real world locations to provide inspiration and there are a number of real places in Edinburgh which very much seem to fit the bill. Within our Old Town alone is the potential inspiration for Hogwarts, a real life Diagon Alley and a certain graveyard with gravestones which display very familiar surnames…
On your own private tour, you will visit these wonderful, dare we say magical places, with our enthusiastic, Harry Potter fan and expert. After your 90-minute tour is completed, you will have not just a whole new appreciation for the background to the creation of the book series but for Edinburgh as a city itself.
